World Down Syndrome Day is March 21st!

March 21st, 2015 marks the tenth annual World Down Syndrome Day and the fourth official date since it was recognized by the United Nations in 2011. People with Down syndrome, their families, friends, teachers, coworkers and supporters will be celebrating across the globe.

World Down Syndrome Day is celebrated on the 21st day of the third month of the year - the date is symbolic of the third copy of the 21st chromosome that characterizes Down syndrome.

Celebrate the value, acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome on March 21st!

This web page will be a central location for SASSNA's celebration of World Down Syndrome Day 2015. We will collect various links, media, and information on this page related to the day and for you to use in celebrating. Please check back here periodically for updates.

Help Youth with Down Syndrome Succeed

You can help youth with Down syndrome in the Greater Sacramento region to lead the best lives that they can and to be in the best position possible to be happy adults. The Sacramento Autistic Spectrum and Special Needs Alliance (SASSNA) provides comprehensive social services to youth with different mental diagnoses, including youth with Down syndrome. We are a one-stop shop for all kinds of assistance that a child with Down syndrome, and his or her family, may need. Whether it's securing the optimal education program from the school system, putting together a variety of therapeutic services to maximize a child's outcome, or providing financial assistance to a family to purchase a needed medical device, SASSNA is there to effectively meet the need. And we are efficient in our usage of resources as we do our work.

All of our services carry no set fee. We ask families to contribute to our 501c3 nonprofit organization in a way that works for their budget. Many families can only contribute small sums, due to being on a low income. SASSNA relies on financial support from the entire community to keep our doors open.

Your tax-deductible donation is directly responsible for a child receiving services from SASSNA. The more resources SASSNA has, the more youth we can serve. As a donor, you are making a difference in the quality of a young person's life. In celebration of World Down Syndrome Day 2015, please make a gift to SASSNA. Please click the "Donate" button below:
